SVH and VIK have now completed our merger to become one big viking family. SVH had moved from server 566 to 753 and into the VIK alliance. We have kept the VIK alliance tag, but the name has been changed to Vikings of Valhalla. This past week was all about moving members to the new server and getting to know our new family.
I have already begun the process of overhauling the entire SVH Discord server for the new alliance. Roles, channels, cosmetics, and functions have now been changed for VIK. This was no easy task and is still an ongoing maintenance to give VIK the quality of server that it deserves.
We have started two different votes in the Discord. One was for the next event and the other is for the event alliance theme. It appears that the majority of the alliance have voted for Vast Jungle. This will be a nice change of event for most of us. We are hoping to get the red camp, as this camp usually correlates to more kills. We will know our alliance theme in the coming days.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be farming healing speedups from the Tree and filling our depots with resources. VIK will also be going over our leadership team for the event. We want to give our alliance the best chance at winning.
While we are a newly merged alliance, we feel confident in our capabilities for events. We have combined our most active members, and our power and kills have increased significantly. We are hoping that this will give us a highly active and competitive alliance moving forward.
More updates to come…

This week, VIK continued to prepare for our next event by farming more healing speedups at the tree. We will continue to do so until we leave for Vast Jungle. We will also continue to fill our depots with much needed resources for the event.
When VIK had an alliance vote, and an overwhelming number of members voted for Vast Jungle. Leaders then voted to choose our preferred team for the event. Most leaders voted to select the red camp to defend in the middle. We know that the matchmaking will place us where it wants, but defending will be our preference this time.
While our alliance has members from all over the world, we are hoping to get a protection time of 8 to 16UTC with a 16 hour fighting window. Vast Jungle is unique among the events with the shared protection time. A 16 hour window would be the best case scenario this event.
We have now entered the matchmaking period. Before entering this period, VIK had members reduce power. We were able to reduce the overall alliance power by over 2 billion. We know that this only plays a very small role in the matchmaking, but every little bit will help. We hope to be paired with allies that are easy to work with and as cooperative as our previous event.
We already have roles and channels set up in the VIK discord for event leader communication. It’s an important first step to open a line of communication with allies as soon as possible after being matched. Over the next week, we will continue to prepare for the long event and set our leadership team. We will be ready!

Matchmaking has officially ended and VIK now knows who our allies and enemies will be for our Vast Jungle event. Our allies will be THO and PLZ. Our enemies will be WAR and CaK. We are already familiar with our allies from previous events, so it has been very easy to get along with them.
The first order of business was to get all the allies together in the VIK discord for event communication and planning. I had already set up roles and channels to use for the event. We all immediately went to planning.
VIK has chosen to take the southern purple zone. THO has taken the northern blue zone. PLZ has taken the south eastern green zone. We spaced out to have the best advantage to take the neutral zone next to our starting zones. The enemy starting zones are still unknown at this point.
The next thing we needed to do was chose the camp leader protection time for the event. In doing this, we used a little bit of strategy. The two enemy alliances are Russian and German, meaning they would most likely want to block the 0 to 8UTC timeframe. In order to reinforce this decision and allow for a 16 hour fighting window, VIK took the R6. The idea was that if they think a primarily American alliance has the lead, they would think we will block the 8 to 16UTC timeframe and choose to block 0 to 8UTC themselves. We will find out at reset if our plan has worked when we enter the event.
Having a 16 hour fighting window will be a huge advantage being the blue camp. This will allow us more time to break through the enemy defenses. PLZ is most active 8 to 16UTC. The other two alliances will be more active during the 16 to 0UTC timeframe. This gives our camp a large window for breaking into the the center zones and wearing out the enemies.
The first week of the event will be all about grabbing buffs and building in our home zones. We will be working closely with our allies throughout the event to give our camp the best chance of winning. We believe if we can get the 16 hour fighting window, we will have the best chance. Only time will tell if our plan has worked.

We have now entered our Vast Jungle event. Our plan to trick the enemy camp into choosing the same 0 to 8UTC protection has worked, and we now have the 16 hour fighting window that we had hoped for. The longer fighting window will be beneficial to our camp, as it allows us more time to wear down the enemies and break through into their center zones.
The first week of the event has been about building towers and taking all buildings in our home zones. All the alliances have been busy gaining buffs for the wars ahead.
Here is a look at the map as it stands now:
In 2 more days, the campsites will unlock in the neutral zones. We are currently discussing a plan of which zones will be the most beneficial to build into first. The plan is to split the zones to maximize teleportation abilities. One alliance will take the Wonder, while another will take the teleportation residences. This will allow our camp the best mobility when the enemy camp approaches.
Over the coming days, leaders will be discussing and coming up with our best course of action to prepare for an enemy advance into our neutral zones. We will be working closely together with our allies to give us the best chance of holding back the enemy camp while they still have the advantage. We have one more day of building before we need a freeze to maximize the amount of towers we can build into the next zones. We will be ready when the time comes.

This week all the alliances continued to capture the remaining buffs and build towards the tunnels in our home zones before the campsites opened in the neutral zones. As soon as the campsites opened, all three allies built into the zones and split the wonders. VIK took the Rebirth of Elk wonder, THO took the Giant Bear and Glacial Fish Wonders, and PLZ took the Secret Stash of Squirrel wonder. On the enemy side, WAR took the Violet Jungle wonder and CAK took the Juniper Cliff wonder.
Here is a look at the map as it sits now:
Our camp decided to split the wonder and residences to maximize our teleportation abilities in each zone. One alliance would take the wonder while the other two would take the teleportation buildings. This will give us the best advantage against in the enemies in these zones.
As soon as the tunnel bonuses dropped, war broke out across the map. While no significant progress was made due to the enemy buffs, we were able to fight the enemy and get a sense of their activity level. The idea was to push at multiple different points on the map and see how the enemy reacted.
Over the coming days, my camp will be pushing into the enemy clash zones towards their wonders. While the buffs are currently against us, we plan to fight and keep the enemy busy before the milestones start to make it easier for our camp. We will be watching the enemy movements closely and react where needed until then.

This week in our Vast Jungle event, it was a tug of war in the southern zones for residences and wonders. The week started out with VIK racing against the clock to reach the CAK wonder and destroy the tower transfer to WAR directly below it. We were able to take the wonder and kill the tower before the time was up. WAR was the forced to build up from the campsite instead. VIK did a tower transfer just outside this zone to THO. The battles still continue for that wonder.
In the other southern zone next to us, PLZ started making their way towards the WAR wonder, while THO broke into the enemy zone up north. PLZ was able to take their wonder and did a tower transfer to THO to bring them into that zone as well. This wonder was also a tug of war for a few days before PLZ and THO were able to secure it and the surrounding area.
Yesterday and today, the battles continued in the southern zone to take back the last WAR wonder in the open zones. At the same time, while the enemies were drained, all three alliances broke into the enemy home zones at different places. PLZ and THO are currently going for the WAR wonder in the north zone, while VIK is building to the CAK wonder in the south western zone.
Here is a look at the map as it stands now:
Over the next week, all the alliances will continue to push for the enemy buffs and wonders to make the enemy camp weaker, while also building to neutral buffs in the open zones. We have 7 days before the tunnels open to the tree zone. We will be ready when the bonus drops!

This week, there was a tug of war battle over the wonder in the north enemy zone. It started out with all three alliances pushing through to it, and PLZ taking the wonder from WAR. THO made its way around the wonder and took the teleportation residence from CAK on the other side. VIK started taking buildings in the south eastern part of the zone.
The next day, the enemy camp got mega activity and took back the wonder in the north zone and pushed back PLZ and THO. Our camp went into survival mode until VIK could build and reach our allies. With VIK being full on fungi, the enemy camp didn’t put up much of a fight and we were able to take back the wonder from WAR.
Over the next couple of days, our focus became pushing through the enemy towers to gain access to the tunnels of the tree zone. VIK went across the bottom ferry to clear out WAR towers to the tunnels. Both PLZ and THO burned towers on their way to us.
During this same time, VIK had taken the wonder in the enemy south western zone from CAK. When the wars stopped up north, WAR began to build to us in that zone, knowing we were alone. In a 2 vs 1 situation, WAR was able to take back the wonder. VIK regained it’s strength and pushed back the following day. We were able to take the wonder back and begin our journey to the tunnels from that zone.
With the protection time, we had to wait until 8UTC to take the tunnels. PLZ and THO went through the north tunnels, while VIK went in through the bottom left tunnels. In the north, CAK had built a wall of towers to try and slow our progress getting in. After some time, all the alliances were able to break into the tree zone and started securing the enemy buffs.
Over the coming days, my camp will continue to push to surround the tree while taking more buffs from the enemy camp. All of the buildings on the way to the tree are held by CAK who have put up minimal resistance once we broke in. WAR has the tree currently. We will continue our efforts to secure the win for this event.

The final week of the event was all about securing the tree zone. With THO and PLZ working from the top down, VIK moved from the bottom up to meet at the tree. With all 3 alliances in the final tree area, we didn’t have much resistance from WAR or CAK. VIK took the tree from WAR and started clearing out all the towers nearby while PLZ and THO cleared out the towers above to secure our win. We thought it was best for VIK to take the tree having the most activity to be able to hold the enemy camp if they made an attempt at the lower right corner.
After securing the tree, all the alliances started clearing out the enemy towers from the center zone. We didn’t want any possibility that they would try for a comeback at the end. The enemy camp seemed to have given up after we took the north wonder back and secured access to the tree zone. Only a few fighters came for minimal resistance the last week.
Once the tree zone was cleared of all the remaining enemy towers, we went back to taking open buffs for the rewards. VIK used the opposite southern tree tunnels to enter WAR’s home zone in an effort to steal the last remaining wonder. After clearing CAK, VIK was able to take the final wonder to hold 5 of the open wonders and tree.
In the final 2 days of the competition period, WAR build from their starting location and was able to recover the last wonder from VIK. Instead of attempting to regain the wonder back, we decided to build and take buildings for rewards.
With the event just hours from ending, this is a look at the final map:
VIK has adjusted our ranks for rewards for the event. We are very happy with the outcome of this Vast Jungle. We had great allies, activity, and planning this event that helped to secure our win. We look forward to trying the new event for S5 ants in our next adventure.
This is Blitzkrieg signing off…

VIK is back on the regular server after winning our Vast Jungle event. Everyone was excited to open their rewards and take a small break between events. It was a great surprise that we received 2 lucky clovers for winning. I personally received another shell of a season 4 ant that I already had with nothing good coming from the clovers:
Looking back at the event, there is not much that we would have changed as far as strategy. Our allies were great to work with, and everyone got along very well. Working together, we were able to dominate almost every aspect of the event. The only change we might have made would have been to even up the buffs for ant classes more evenly.
Now that we are back on the regular server, we will begin to farm resources and speedups for our next event. We are still deciding where to go, but we are thinking about the new Mutated Jungle Beta event. This would be the best choice to receive the new S5 ants.
As we do before every new event, we will be recruiting new members to join the alliance. We will also be taking member suggestions for the next alliance theme. Alliance themes are a fun way to show unity and make the events more enjoyable for everyone.
I have been working to reset event and leadership channels in our discord to prepare for new alliance leaders for our next season. We are also reviewing our previous season to improve VIK overall going forward. We still have a lot of work to do in order to get ready for the next event. For now, we will enjoy the more relaxed time we have left on 753.
