VIK, Blitzkrieg, Server 753, Mutated Jungle Beta, XJ 12

This week has been all about getting prepared for the new event. VIK has decided to officially sign up for the new Mutated Jungle Beta Event. We believe this event will give us the best chances of obtaining the new S5 ants. We are fresh from our event in Vast Jungle, so we hope this will help with strategies.

I have already set up the VIK Discord to accommodate the new allies, whoever they may be. We are hoping that we get paired with allies that are as cooperative as last event. We are also hoping to have a better protection time. Our most active time is 16 to 8. We are hoping to have a 16 hour fighting window with 8 to 16 blocked. We were in the blue camp our last event and are familiar with being on the offensive, but we will be ready for whatever side the game puts us on.

VIK has had a few members leave, and a few new members join in the off-season. Last event, we were highly active and had a lot of power. We hope that this trend will continue going forward; especially with a better protection time. We will be adjusting some ranks and accepting a few more new members while the cross server convocation is still open.

We still have some time left on the server, so we will use the remaining days to continue gathering much needed resources and speedups for the event. We will also be choosing our next alliance theme from recommendations from our members. We will be entering the matchmaking period in

VIK has continued to farm for resources and speedups this week while we wait for our matchmaking period to end. We have 3 more days until we find our our allies and enemies for our Mutated Jungle Beta event, and everyone is impatient to see what the event has in store.

We have chosen our event theme. This event, we will use pirates for our profile pictures. Next, we will be chosing our anthill skins. We feel that alliance themes help to show unity and make the events more fun, while also intimidating the enemy alliances.

VIK did some recruiting in the off-season to replace the members that left after last event. We now stand at 98 members. With our dominating win last season, we hope to continue with our high activity and strong power.

We still don’t know which camp we will have. If we get the red camp, we are hoping for an 8 hour fighting window to make it easier to defend. If we get the blue camp again, we hope for a 16 hour window to give us more opportunities to break into the red zone. Only time will tell which side the matchmaking will put us on.

We still have plenty of time left on the server before leaving. Most of us are taking advantage of the rest period to prepare for the long event ahead. We will continue to farm resources and speedups over the next week. We will also be chosing our leadership team and officers in the coming days. We hope to be paired with cooperative allies when the timer hits 0. No matter what, we will be ready!

Our matchmaking period has finally ended and VIK now knows our allies and enemies for our Mutated Jungle Beta event. Our allies will be ASH (server 351) and MER (server 346). Our enemies for the event will be FTF (server 995), OLY (server 725), and NUW (server 220).

The first order of business was to get all allies in the VIK discord to discuss season topics. I had already set up channels and roles to accommodate our allies. The first thing that was discussed was the camp protection time. Jungle events are a little different than other events in the fact that there is a shared protection time between the camps. We decided our best option was to block 8 to 16UTC and deal with whatever protection the enemy camp chooses. We will find out at reset what the enemy camp chose.

All three alliances were open to the role of R6 for the event. MER was given the R6 to start, but it can be passed to other leaders if needed once the fighting starts. With the protection time and R6 decided, it was time to pick our starting zones. None of the alliances really cared where we started, so we all just picked at random. VIK will be starting in the north center zone. ASH took the lower right clash, and MER took the lower left. For the enemies, FTF took the left clash, NUW took the east, and OLY took the north.

With everything talked about and set for the event, we are looking forward to leaving for Mutated Jungle at reset. This will be a learning curve for everyone with the differences from the normal Vast Jungle event. Everyone is excited to test the new event and work with our allies to win!

This week my camp started taking buffs in all three home zones. We have tried to distribute buildings evenly to all three alliances across all three starting zones to make use of free teleportation and having all the alliances together for when the enemy camp tries to invade. The tree zone was mainly on a first come, first serve basis to gain buffs.

VIK has decided to let either MER or ASH to take the tree. We felt that we could make better use of towers to gain more buffs for our camp, rather than having all three alliances raced to build there. We split the wonders and residences in our home zones to allow the other alliances free teleportation in other starting zones. This will give us the best chance to defend later in the event.

Below is a look at the map as it sits now:

We still have another two days before the campsites open in the first outside zone. This zone will be our first battleground once the tunnels open to the enemy zone next to it. We look forward to fighting in the new event and seeing what VIK and our allies can do against more evenly matched enemies.

Over the next couple of days, VIK, MER, and ASH will continue to take the remaining buffs in our starting zones while building to block the outside tunnels. MER and ASH will take the tree. We will be ready when the first campsites open to the new zones. FTF, NUW, and OLY are also preparing for battle. The smell of war is in the air!

With the home zone buildings all taken and everyone moved to the tunnels to block, our focus became to take the south zone as soon as the campsites opened. We took three paths to take all the buildings and met at the enemy side tunnels. MER took the wonder in this zone.

At the time the tunnels opened, MER and VIK were positioned at the south tunnels, and ASH was at the top tunnels with both the other alliances building to them. Once the tunnels opened at reset, war began to break out at both tunnels.

FTF focused mainly on ASH at the north tunnel. Both VIK and MER tried to pull the focus away by attacking FTF and both the other enemy alliances at the south tunnel while building north. This proved to be problematic as ASH wasn’t able to hold with activity problems and a double team up north. FTF was able to break through, allowing the other alliances to build through.

When the wars started today, VIK tried to take some attention off ASH by provoking FTF at the southern tunnel. However, with low activity, FTF was able to burn our tower easily. MER started to build north to attack NUW and take some focus to them. At our second attempt, VIK built to attach to NUW and OLY without connecting to FTF. This is currently where our battle sits.

With the enemy in our zone, we are trying to come up with a plan to get all three allies together to hold our wonder and area. FTF is definitely the strongest and most active alliance in the event and will take all the allies working together to hold them. Leadership will be working together to come up with a plan for the coming days. Our battles still continue at this time.

This week started with the enemies in our southern clash zone. All the allies worked together to contain the enemy advancement towards our wonder. FTF had captured the first fruit fortress and started moving west towards the other one. All three enemies started building together.

ASH already had the second fortress, so both VIK and MER started building north to make a stronghold near the second fruit fortress. It wasn’t long before the battles started there. FTF came from the north and captured it, while both NUW and OLY took a more southern path. All three allies battled to remove their towers. Unfortunately, FTF proved to be too strong and active to take the building back.

With both fruit fortresses captured by the enemy and no progress to recapture, my camp decided it was best to contain the enemy in the northern part of the zone and keep them away from the Wonder before the zone was destroyed.

Once the east and west zones opened, all the alliances began building to the buffs from the campsites. There have been no wars since the southern zone. Everyone raced to take what they could before turning our focus north. VIK took the wonder in this area.

Now that the southern zones are destroyed and the east and west zones captured, all of our focus went to the northern Area 51 zone. Tower transfers began to get all the alliances there. The tunnels to the new zone open at reset today. All the alliances have been saving clay to be full by the time they open. It will be a race to the Wonder with many battles to come.

This week the tunnels opened to the Area 51 zone. All the alliances raced to build to the Wonder. VIK and MER built from the south along with FTF and OLY. ASH and NUW built in the northern part of the zone. It wasn’t long before the battles began in the southern half.

VIK and MER built to race the enemy alliances, but FTF and OLY built straight to us. The plan was for MER to take the first building while we both raced towards the tree. However, both FTF and OLY were close and fierce battles started in the area. FTF was able to push us back and take the residence.

After the battles in the south half of the zone, ASH built as far as they could towards the wonder from the north before doing tower transfers to get all three allies in the northern half. Battles moved from further out to closer to the wonder. Working together, we held off OLY and FTF with NUW hitting hills from afar, and were able to attach to the northern part of the wonder with FTF and OLY attached from the bottom.

With the enemy alliances closing in on the top half of the wonder, we decided to try and take it in a last hit lottery against the enemy camp. Unfortunately, FTF got the last hit on it and then proceeded to burn all of our attached towers on the north side, while also gaining free teleportation in the area.

VIK tried once last push through some NUW towers to attach to the Wonder. Unfortunately, FTF used the R6 tower deletion and removed the blocking NUW tower to get in our path and successfully corner us. All three enemies then burned all of our towers only leaving one in the north half of the zone.

With the northern half of Area 51 lost, the allies tried to split OLY and take back some residences. VIK coordinated with ASH to attack two of their residences at once. After hours of battle, VIK was able to steal one back and delete OLY towers around it. ASH was not able to attach in the north. MER was able to push back and block OLY at the tunnels in the Bear zone.

Over the coming days, we will continue to look for other possibilities to regain some wonder points. FTF is building into the Bear zone and we will be having battles there in the coming days. While it doesn’t look good for our camp, we won’t give up and will continue to look for opportunities.

This week in the event, my camp had to try and defend the right middle clash zone from the enemies. FTF and NUW built into the zone and headed towards the VIK wonder, taking some buildings along the way. MER fought and held OLY at the entrance of the zone and also built to assist VIK in defending our wonder.

Unfortunately, after completely surrounding the wonder, the enemy camp was able to steal it. MER built to assist, but was not able to gather enough members to help us defend. With VIK outnumbered 2 vs 1, NUW and FTF were able to push VIK back and take it. ASH was too far to be able to build to us. The enemies now have control over the zone.

With not much left to do on the map, VIK decided to invade the NUW home zone to see if we could steal some buildings and have some fun. After a day of fighting we were pushed back to the tunnels unable to gain a footing in the area.

With most of the open zone wonders captured, the event is pretty much over. There is still some fighting going on for smaller buildings around the map, but it is more for fun rather than having any significance to win the season. My camp will continue to defend what we have, but a this point, the season has already been decided.

The last week of the season was I eventful. There were some battles, but they were mainly just for fun. The season was determined last week with the Bear zone wonder being taken from my camp. VIK was able to reclaim a few buildings from NUW, but there was no chance to take back the wonders from the enemy camp.

During the final days of the event, VIK did our rank adjustments for rewards based on event activity. We try to give higher rewards for members that deserve them. It was a good event, as far as ally communication and planning. We were glad to have worked with both MER and ASH.

Once we hit the regular server everyone was excited to open their season rewards. I personally received a copy of a guardian ant that I got early on in the season hatching.

Now that VIK is back on the regular server, we will begin recruiting and planning for the next event. It seems that our time will be limited this time to decide where to go. We will also be using the time on the server to gather resources and speedups for the next event. This past event was very resource heavy, and we want to be prepared for whatever adventure we decide.

Until next season…this is Blitzkrieg, signing off…
