Story
Scientific name: Ampulex compressa
belongs to the order Hymenoptera, suborder Apocrita, and family Ampulicidae. Its body surface shines with a metallic greenish-blue luster, resembling a jewel. Mainly distributed in tropical regions such as South Asia, Africa, and the Pacific Island groups. The female is 22mm long, with a venomous stinger at the end of its abdomen, while the male is smaller and lacks a venomous sting. They lay their eggs inside cockroaches, allowing them to control the cockroaches’ reproduction.
