Scientific name: Cataglyphis bombycina
It is mainly distributed in hot desert regions, with the Sahara Desert being a primary habitat for them. They can survive in environments with surface temperatures reaching up to 70℃, making it one of the most heat-resistant insects known. In the sunlight, these ants exhibit a shimmering silver-white reflection all over their bodies, resembling metallic ants that have traveled from the future. Apart from their heat resistance, they are also known for their fast crawling speed. If translated to human proportions, their speed can reach up to 180 miles per hour or 450 kilometers per hour.
