does Hunt Mutation wild creature damage apply to other PVE damage besides auto hunting insects
Pangolin, groundhog, aphids

as far as I understand it does not help in PVE pango and GH

The mutation you mentioned has no effect against special creatures such as pangolins or Groundhogs.
