Bella is dreaming about taking A Wonder on the Island. Will her ants manage that accomplishment?
Life on the Island was fun and filled with many challenges. The colony had grown and prospered over time there. Even the gathering was more manageable here. Of course, Bella’s ants still hated gathering day most of all days in the week, but it was easier. There was just one thing missing. Bella had long dreamed of taking a great structure that would be the envy of all the neighbouring ant colonies and marking it as hers. On the Island, there were several structures like that, several Wonders to be taken.
One day, Bella received word that another ant colony, led by the fierce and ambitious Queen Metal, had also set their sights on taking a Wonder. Metal’s colony was known for their military might, and Bella knew a battle was inevitable. In Bella’s anthill, she had several great generals. She thought awhile and decided that Iron and Papazilla would lead her ants into battle. She invited both generals to her tower and gave them a place to make plans for attack.
Iron and Papazilla were sitting in a quiet room, surrounded by maps and blueprints, discussing their plan for the siege. Iron, the best leader of the ant army, was going through the details of the mission, while Papazilla, the strongest and bravest of all the ants, was nodding along, listening intently.
Suddenly, they were startled by a loud, high-pitched sound outside the window. It was a group of ants singing a catchy tune.
We’re the ant army, marching in a line
Going into battle, feeling just fine
Our queen Bella’s calling; we’re ready to go
Iron and Papazilla leading the show
We’re tiny but mighty, don’t underestimate
Our strength in numbers, we’ll seal your fate
We’ll march into battle with all our might
Ants on a mission, ready to fight
We’ll climb up your walls, invade your home
You’ll never know what hit you as we roam
Our jaws are strong; we’ll carry you away
You’ll be dinner for us without delay
We’ll crawl on your food; we’ll make a mess
You’ll scream and shout, but we won’t rest
Our queen Bella’s proud of what we’ll do
We’ll show you ants, what we can chew
So if you see us coming, you better beware
The ant army’s here, and we don’t play fair
We’re gonna take over, and you’ll be our slave
So join us now, or dig your own grave!
Iron frowned in frustration.
What is going on out there? We’re trying to plan a serious operation, and they’re out there singing like it’s karaoke night.
Papazilla chuckled.
Don’t be too hard on them, Iron. They’re just trying to have some fun. We can’t expect everyone to take this as seriously as we do.
Iron sighed.
I know, but we need everyone focused if we’re going to succeed. Let’s see if we can get them to quiet down.
ron stood up and walked over to the window, Papazilla following close behind. They peered outside and saw a group of ants huddled together, singing at the top of their lungs. Iron cleared his throat and called out to them.
Excuse me, everyone. We’re in the middle of a meeting here and need you to keep it down.
The singing ants looked up, startled. One of them, a jolly ant named Beli, called back, “Oh, sorry, Iron! We were just practising our new song. We didn’t realise we were being too loud.”
Iron sighed but couldn’t help but smile at Beli’s innocent demeanour.
That’s all right, Beli. Just try to keep it down for a bit longer. We’ll be done with our meeting soon.
The singing ants nodded in agreement, and Iron and Papazilla went back to their planning. They continued to discuss their strategy, but every now and then, they would be interrupted by a burst of singing from outside the window.
At first, it was distracting, but soon enough, they found themselves tapping their feet to the catchy tune. In fact, by the end of the meeting, they were humming the song themselves.
As they left the room, Iron turned to Papazilla with a smile.
You know what, Papazilla? Maybe those singing ants weren’t so bad after all. They might have helped us relax and focus better on our plan.
Papazilla chuckled.

Just when it seemed like all hope was lost, Bella had an idea. She approached Metal with a proposal for a truce. To her surprise, Metal was receptive to the idea. So the two queens agreed to work together to take the Wonder, each contributing their unique skills and resources.
